Online Card Class 'Homework'

Happy Friday!!

I have been quiet here on my blog...but behind the scenes, I have plenty of ideas and projects running through my head and on my craft table.

I have enrolled in the Online Card Classes Background Check session.  And I am LOVING it!!   So many new ways to apply techniques that I have done.

Warning....this post may be a bit long since I am incorporating several projects into it.  ;-)

These first pictures are of the backgrounds (just a few from the class).

This card, I created the background and just couldn't resist going ahead before taking a picture...

I stamped the images in Versafine Onyx Black in and added Perfect Pearls Mist.

For this card, I really didn't like the background.  I didn't like the plaid stamped lines.  I didn't really get the inking quite right.  But after the card came together....I MUST say, I LOVE it.

I die cut the word 'You' with a Simon Says Stamp die out of the background and Neenah Solar White card stock (4 times).  In hindsight, I thing I should have used black card stock instead of Neenah Solar White...but that's ok.  Next time!  ;-)

I also added clear Wink of Stella to the die cut for a bit of interest.

And finally, this card.  This is my favorite so far!!   So much interest but not too busy to distract the eye.

MFT Summer School Lesson #10

Happy Friday!

I wanted to share with you my final creation for the MFT Summer School Lessons.

This is for Lesson #10 - Monochromatic.

I know I've said this before, but I LOVE how this turned out.  ;-)

For the shaker, I used Pretty Pink Posh's Exclusive Sweetheart sequin mix for Impress Cards.  I was lucky enough that my husband was contracting for a company out in Seattle, Washington and he picked up a few packs for me.  Isn't he a keeper??

I also added clear Wink of Stella to the Happy die cut.

The inside of the card was finished with Pure Innocence Clowning Around stamp set.   In retrospect, I should have stamped in Razzleberry ink to coordinate.  But that's ok.  ;-)

MFT Summer School Lessons #7 & #8

Happy Friday!!

This is my second post today....because I am SO in the crafty flow right now.  Thanks all to the MFT Stamps Summer School Lessons.

*Warning this post may be a bit long*   ;-)

My first creation is inspired by Lesson #8 - Primary Colors.

I used the new Split Diagonal Stencil with Simon Says Stamps and WPlus9 inks.  I didn't have the correct MFT inks...but I have since corrected that with an order.  ;-)

After I removed the stencil, I spritzed the panel with a Perfect Pearls mist (see pic below) and die cut with the panel with Blueprints 21 pierced rectangle.

I cut a piece of MFT Vellum and some MFT red cardstock with the new Blueprints 26 dies.  The sentiment was compiled from the Super Boy and Terrific Ties stamp sets, stamped in Versafink and clear heat embossed.  A few Doodlebug Sprinkles to finish it off.

This card is by far my favorite....  It was inspired by Lesson #7.

One of my favorite color combinations is blue and orange.  It can be used in so many ways.

I used Dylusions Sprays to create a background panel.  Once that dried, I die cut the panel shape from Blueprints 21 and stars from the panel with Blueprints 18.  I sprayed the outline stars with the same orange spray and inlaid them in the panel once attached to the card base.  The center stars I popped up on foam squares.

The banner flag was cut with the Blueprints 21 die set, sentiment from the Terrific Ties stamp set was stamped in Memento Pigment ink and clear heat embossed.

The inside of the card was decorated with the negative of the die cut panel from the front, and detailed with some stars stamped with some more Memento pigment inks and also clear heat embossed.

Happy Friday!  Yay! Friday!

I have been having so much fun, and I am completely inspired, with MFT Stamp's Summer School lessons.

I have made 2 1/2 cards ( is started but it's drying...*wink*) so far.  And I am so giddy with how well they have turned out.

Here is my first card, made with my hubby in mind.  He has been through so much in our 15 years of marriage...more than I will divulge here...but the most recent obstacle is his eyes.  As a result of a medical condition and medications to control it, he has developed severe cataracts in both eyes.  Unfortunately, his job greatly depends on his sight.  So he is having couple of surgeries over the next few months.  And he has been such a trooper.  During all of this, he has not complained once.  He continues to work his hardest and he has even put in new tile in our kitchen,

So in honor of him and his upcoming surgeries........

(For the card, I used all MFT products.   The colors of choice are Steel Grey, Midnight Blue, and Gumdrop Green.  The stamp sets used were Terrific Ties, For The Boys, and Super Boy.)

He really is my rock.  I love him wholeheartedly and admire him so much.

One of the Family

Happy Thursday!
I'm on the Miss Kate Cuttables blog today.

First, Today's Freebie.......
(You can get today's freebie at the store HERE.)

And now my creation:

Aren't they the cutest dogs you've ever seen?  We have finally added the last two members of our family.  These precious Treeing  Walker Coonhounds, Duke and Indy.  And since they are now settled, I thought it was time to make a page for the kids books.  (For those who don't know, our three youngest are adopted, and while creating their lifebooks, I became hooked on scrapping.)  This page will go in our daughter's book.  I'll make similar pages for the boys' books.

For the layout, I used this sketch...

The cutting file I used can be found HERE on the
Miss Kate Cuttables site.

Otterly Great Birthday

Happy Tuesday!!!

Today I am sharing with you my Action Wobbles Design Team project.

I used Lawn Fawn's Year Five stamp set.  I stamped the otter on Papertrey Ink cardstock and colored him with Copic Markers.  I chose the colors by using Sandy Allnock's Hex Chart.  I just LOVE this chart!!

(close up)

The waves, sun, and clouds are all Miss Kate Cuttable files.  I cut the files out of MFT Cardstock and Vellum with my Silhouette Cameo.  MFT Cardstock is great with the cameo.  The clouds I used as masks with my Copic Airbrush on a Papertrey Ink cardbase.

The little otter was put on an action that he can float through the waves.

(action wobble)

  (Wobble in Action)

I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx black in and clear embossed it.  I love how the clear embossing makes the sentiment crisp and pop a bit more.

Thank You

Happy Thursday!!

It's been quite the adventure here at Graham Manor.  With Summer starting and taking an unexpected business trip with hubby to meet all his co-workers (some work remote) for a company gathering, I feel like I haven't crafted in a LONG time..

And for such a wonderful time provided for our family by my hubsband's employer, I had to make a thank you card.

I used Papertrey Ink's Plaid Builder stamp set with WPlus9's ink and Stamper's Select White cardstock.  After stamping the panel, I cut it out with MFT's Blueprints 21.

The sentiment from WPlus9 is stamped on MFT Vellum with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Ranger's Liquid Platnium embossing powder (My FAV!).

I think this card will convey our appreciation for the company.
