Mask-erade Online Card Class

Happy Thursday!

Today I wanted to share with you a few cards inspired by lessons from Day 1 of the Mask-erade onlinc card class.   The class is currently on day 3..so I'm a bit behind.   Two reasons...

The first is these two cuties...

Our family welcomed two new additions to the family over Memorial Day weekend.   And now that they have been with us for a few days, they are definitely a handful.   More comfortable with their environment which means getting into EVERYTHING.

The second reason is that I have been sick.  Being sick with two new puppies, 4 kids, 3 cats, and a hubby....not exactly a picnic.  Ha Ha

...............................................................................................................................

The first card I made was inspired by Kristina Werner's lesson.

I used Lawn Fawn's Make Lemonde and Gingham Backdrops.  I used post-it notes for my masking.

The images were colored with Copics (my favorite coloring medium), and highlighted with clean Wink of Stella

The gingham background was stamped using my MISTI tool and Simon Says Stamp Lemon Chiffon ink.

...............................................................................................................................

My second card was inspired by Shari Carroll's Day 1 Lesson.

For my mask, I used a post-it note and a 1 3/4 circle punch.

The circle was inked with Wplus9 ink.   The florals were stamped using WPlus9's Fresh Cut Floral's Stamp Set and ink.

I added clear Wink of Stella to the florals and highlighted the greeting with a clear Spica pen.  A bit of twine and the foam tape to the panel, and my card was finished.

I am tremednously enjoying seeing all the techniques and inspiration that the instructors have to offer.

Have a great day!

Cardz TV 3-D Blog Hop

Welcome to the Cardz TV 3-D Designers Blog Hop.

The Design Team have knocked their projects out of the park.  Be sure you check everyone's project and leave each one some love.

If you are following the lineup, you should have come by the way of Krystal's Blog.

Now on to my project......

I created a magic slider card.   I followered this tutorial.

I used Cardz TV Easter Punnies Stamp set.

This set paired well with Lawn Fawn's Snow Day stamp set.

I colored the cute bunny with Copic Warm Gray Markers.  And stamped the trees and hearts in My Favorite Things Hybrid inks so that they were compatable with the Copic Markers.

Your next stop is Deanna

Here is the lineup.......

Thank you!

Happy Monday!

Miss Kate Cuttables May Challenge live over in the Facebook group.

This month's challenge is End of Year Teacher Gifts...using any MKC file.

I created a gift card for my daugther's teacher.

My project was inspired by Sandy Allnock's post.

I used MKC's Cute Bookworm file and my Silhouette software and Cameo to design and create my holder.

Isn't the worm just the cutest?????

I cut both green pieces out of the same MFT cardstock, but to give depth, the 'outside' pieces was inked in Gina K Designs dye ink.

I colored his eyes with a black marker (since I cut all of the eye pieces out of white), and when I covered them with glossy accents, it created this halo around his pupils.   The glasses were covered in clear Wink of Stella.

Be sure to come join the challenge fun!

Happy Birthday

Happy Saturday!

I wanted to share with you a card I made for a special little girl in my life who turns 4 today!

I used the current MFT sketch for my layout.

The background and white strips were both created with MFT Blueprints 15.

The banner was cut with MFT's Fishtail Flags with MFT Vellum.  The balloons are from WPlus9's Whole Lotta Happy stamped and stamped in Versamark ink and  heat embossed in Simon Says Stamp detail white embossing powder.

The inside of the card was finished with a sentiment created from the Whole Lotta Happy Stamp set with MFT's Black Licorice Hybrid and Razzle Berry Dye Inks, and scraps from the front of the card.

Father's Day Card

Happy Thursday!

It's my day on Miss Kate Cuttables' Blog.  And I created a Father's Day card.

I know, I know....Sunday is Mother's Day and you are all looking for inspiration for it.  But for me Mother's Day actually means Father.   My parents' birthdays were flip flopped with 'their' holiday.  My father's birthday was in May, days before Mother's Day.  And my mother's birthday is in June, just after Father's Day.

My card is in honor of my Daddy....

I took to pinterest for a card sketch/idea.   And I came across this post.  I just love the colors.

I used MKC's Border Set and Nested Labels.

For a bit of interest, I added clear Wink of Stella to the red and smoke circles.

Mother's Day.....3D Style

Happy Friday!

Today is a new 3D challenge over at Cardz TV.

The DT challenge is to create a 3D Mother's Day card.

I used Jamie Lane's Tri-Shutter card file.  The base was cut using MFT's cardstock.  The patterned paper is from a Recollections paper pad.

'Mom' was cut out of cream cardstock then embossed with two layers of white embossing powder.

The edge of front panel, also cut from cream cardstock, was embossed with clear sparkling embossing to match the butterflies on the paper.

For the front, I handcut two butterflies from the scraps to add bit of interest.

The sentiment was stamped with MFT's Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.  Pearls were added to the sentiment strip and butterflies.

The sentiment is from Cardz TV Happy Days set.
