Bring Us to Your Cake

Happy Wednesday!

It's an early morning here at Graham Manor.  We had a visitor (my granddaughter) over the weekend, and since then, we have been up before the sunrise.

Today I'm sharing a chard inspired by MFT's color challenge for my little boy.

He's turning 8 in June and LOVES Aliens.  So, the color challenge was perfect for the palette of his card.

I started with a watercolor panel using Carved Pumpkin, Twisted Citron, and Wilted Violet distress stains.  I flicked some white Disillusions spray, then added some Silver Pearl embossed stars.  I cut the panel with Blueprints 15.  I love the stitched edge.

The sentiment was stamped in Versamark onyx black ink and clear heat embossed to make it pop off the background.   The aliens (from Gerda Steiner) were stamped on colored card stock and cut out.  I used an X-acto knife to cut slits in the ships to slide the aliens into.  Since they were on colored card stock, I used a white Signo gel pen to highlight the eyes.

One the panel was adhered to a Simon Says Stamp Fog card base, I popped the aliens on foam squares.

The inside was stamped with a sentiment and another alien in his ship.
