Water Colored Butterflies

Happy Wednesday!

I have been playing with water colors lately.  I have always been a Copic girl..but I want to master water coloring.  So, here are my latest creations.

Aren't they just lovely?  <3
I bought WPlus9's Flora and Fauna I stamp set a while back, but I couldn't figure out what to do with it.  So as we crafters do, I searched Pinterest for butterflies and water colors, and came across Dawn's video.

I stamped the images with Versafine onyx black ink on Strathmore watercolor paper.  Then I clear heat embossed them.  I used Zig Clean Color Brush Markers to add color to my images and background.

Once dry, I added some clear Spectrum Noir glitter brush pen to the butterflies.   Finished off with a few sequins with one card.

The other card was just perfect without any additional embellishments.

I am entering my cards into SimonSaysStamp.com Monday Challenge.

  1. Wow! These are gorgeous cards! I am so impressed at how realistic the butterflies look and I love the way you made the black parts so textural with the clear embossing. And the bits of blue in the background create such an elegant sky for your butterflies! It was also fun to see two different cards utilizing the butterfly stamps. Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
